The Compassion Network will be using Bethel UMC’s kitchen and Friendship Hall again this year to prepare and pass out over 500 Thanksgiving meals on November 27 (for preparation) and Thanksgiving Day.
As usual, they need baked goods for this dinner. Pies, cakes and cookies are the items they prefer, as they pack and travel better. They will need at least 500 servings overall.
Sooooo, who can help them by baking some pies, cakes or cookies for the Thanksgiving Day Free Community Dinner??? All baked goods need to be at the church on Wednesday the 22nd.
***Please do not cut the pies and cakes. They will cut and package the baked goods on Wednesday***
There are several other ways you can help with this year’s dinner:
1. Are you available and willing to help with meal preparation on Wednesday the 22nd?
2. Are you able to help cook and tray the meals on Thanksgiving Day the 23rd?
3. Are you able to store a frozen turkey(s) ASAP? Mark would prefer to place the turkeys with people who are also willing and able to cook them for Wednesday the 27th.
4. Can you help by providing food donations, making deserts and/or giving financial donations to make the meal possible?
Last year over 750 free, complete Thanksgiving dinners were given to our neighbors.
5. Would you be able to helps us deliver meals to the local hi-rise buildings in the community on Thanksgiving Day. Would be a 2 hour time commitment, 11am - 1pm.
Each year the Lord blesses this outreach which blesses so many in our communities. We are very grateful for those who participate, support and sacrificially give of themselves and their resources to make this meal possible.
